The Criminals traveled to San Diego to compete in the annual El Cajon Christmas tournament that is hosted by Valhalla High School.  The tournament was held at Otay Ranch High School, a new school in Chula Vista.  The tournament was originally held at El Cajon high school and has retained the name over the years.
  Yuma had their best showing of the year, placing 5 wrestlers and finishing 9th overall.  The Crims missed winning a trophy by 1/2 point, despite having two wrestlers miss weight, and forfeiting the 103 lb. weight class.  Poway, of San Diego, was the tournament team champion.
  Practices leading up to the tournament were held in semi darkness and cold due to the power being completely off in the gym at Yuma High over the holiday break.  Coach Perkins came through with a generator and lights to make practice possible.
